Question about base Marlin version/commit

which version (commit) in the original Marlin repository this firmware is based on?

I tried, but can't figure out which commit of the main Marlin repo it's based on, but the closest we can get is knowing when this repo was created, as presumably they used an up to date version of Marlin 2.0 around that time. As most of the files say they were modified with commit 01928a2 by paulpenny on Sep 17, 2019, it's possible he cloned the official Marlin repo's commit around that time, but it's impossible to tell, since he didn't fork it like you're supposed to. So that's a guess, really.

You can see this by going to any file, such as Marlin.cpp, and looking at the top, and it'll show you the last contributor that worked on it, the commit, and the date.

My suggestion is to just take the config files, copy those over to a current version on the main Marlin 2.x repo, and build it fresh.

You can even fork the repo properly and update the config files. If I get to it in the next week or so, I'll update this with a link to my repo.
