The Hugonet glacier data set:

has excellent glacier data available for the period of study we care about (nominally 2000-2020).

This data is in gridded tiles of 0.5 degrees and needs to be mapped in some way to the hydrobasins.

probably the best way of doing this is to simply calculate the closest hydrobasins level 6 lat/lon centroids to the centroilds of the tiles, then assign the hydrobasins catchment ID to the tiles.

then, later, aggregation can be applied to the data.

there is a new data by Ines et al so I suggest we use that instead. its also better format cause its gridded, so identical to precip
