warnings: Fixing compiler warnings

Why: To review important and new warnings.

Strategy:

• Focus on fixing issues in “vp” methods.
• Do not fix convert, regex, or svg — so disable warnings related to #DECLARE and declarations starting with C_ (this isn’t an issue since new code won’t use them).
  • Also, note that duplicated regex and svg code elsewhere might get updated later (in other projects)
