Appimage broken in linux system

Hello, I try to run release Frame_0.13.0_amd64.AppImage in linux system, but it won't open the application and give this error

my system information

OS: CachyOS x86_64 -> Arch
Kernel: Linux 6.18.0-3-cachyos
WM: niri (Wayland)
CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1235U (12) @ 4.40 GHz
GPU: Intel Iris Xe Graphics @ 1.20 GHz [Integrated]

I extract app image using gear lever.

I don't know if this will help but i extracted appimage and in /usr there wasn't any EGL

./frame.appimage --appimage-extract
cd squashfs-root
ls usr/lib | grep -E "EGL|GL|stdc"

Don't know if this happen in other linux distros.

Same on macOS (15.7.3).

Version 0.13.1 tested.

EDIT: Nervemind, I just forget to use the command xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Frame.app.

Please, test 0.13.1 which should resolve the issue

I did download 0.14 appimage , it did open up without a problem.

But i couldn't add any source, it froze and crash after sometime.

I think it just arch problem, might work in other distros.

I did run 13.1 version manually with bun run tauri dev, it did work, I was able to load source and convert it other formats. But video play window didn't work.

I think it related to

I will look into it when i get some free time.

I will take a look also, I suspect this issue may be specific to Arch, so if I will find a solution, I will be extremely grateful for help with testing as you’re probably one of the first Frame users on Arch 😃

Same problem on Fedora, requirements are satisfied but I also get

I also noticed when I switch to another window and back to the App, the GUI is gone, it's just an empty, transparent window, but the app is still running.
I'm using current Fedora with Sway.

From your logs, it looks like a Linux/WebKit+GStreamer runtime issue
Main problem is missing GStreamer bits (appsink, autoaudiosink), which can crash the WebKit media process and then the app window stays transparent/empty after refocus.

Could you try:

sudo dnf install webkit2gtk4.1 gstreamer1-plugins-base gstreamer1-plugins-good gstreamer1-libav gstreamer1-plugin-pipewire
gst-inspect-1.0 appsink autoaudiosink

And as a quick test for Sway/Wayland renderer issues:

WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1 ./Frame.AppImage
If that env var helps, it confirms a WebKit-on-wlroots rendering issue on our side and we can add a workaround.

All of the packages were already installed (gstreamer1-plugin-pipewire was not available but I have pipewire-gstreamer-1.4.10-1.fc43.x86_64 installed)

Also appsink and autoaudiosink are installed.

I also believe the rendering breaks when the app crashes. I can start it and switch windows and workspaces and it's fine, but when I add a file the error comes up and then, after some seconds, the window get's transparent.

I ran it in debug mode and I have gstreamer 1.26 but frame expects 1.24?

Ok, I tried bundling media framework in 0.25.2, update your app and try it out

With 0.25.2 the error is gone, I can start the app and add media without a crash, but now I get a warning

I can workaround it with:

But when the media conversion reaches 100% it crashes with this error:
