Is it a must to use this app in GTM?

In the README file, it seems so. We need configure this app within GTM, and even the integration with CMP.

Are there any alternatives to use this app independently?

Hi @fishfree,

The 68publishers/cookie-consent widget extends the basic functionality of the original one and is implemented via GTM. Running it without GTM is possible, but not straightforward, and therefore not recommended for non-dev users.

It’s hard to tell exactly what you’re asking, as you might be mixing up the terminology:

• 68publishers/cookie-consent – this widget
• 68publishers/consent-management-platform – the application for managing projects, consents and metrics. The administration interface and API

Alternatives likely exist for both the widget and the CMP — try searching on Google.

• If you mean integrating the widget with another CMP, that’s possible, but it would require a custom implementation, probably using some kind of mapper.
• If you’re asking about an alternative to the widget using 68publishers/consent-management-platform, it provides an API. If you follow that API, it can be integrated.

At the moment, I’m not aware of any solution that would work out of the box.
