Unable to see highlighted text?

Hi! This is my first time writing something on Github!
I really like this theme but one issue I'm having is that I cannot see text that is highlighted.

I wish there was a way to be able to see text that's highlighted with your mouse (right click, and highlight text)--just because I'm somewhat always highlighting chunks of my text and I want to see where it starts and ends.
