Description
Checklist
- I have searched the issue tracker and was unable to find an open or closed issue matching what I'm seeing.
- I have verified that the issue is happening in the latest commit.
What happened?
When checking an UEFI BIOS (non-Legacy BIOS) from American Megatrends (Aptio) or Phoenix (SecureCore Tiano) with the latest commit of bios-tools (348be40 and 6581024), bios-tools doesn't recognize the UEFI BIOS while an older commit from last year works (Commit a1709bd). This is also reflected in 86Box Discord server's 86Bot where it refuses to analyze EFI BIOSes with "BIOS not recognized" and has been going for few months now.
I have installed the pip requirements and put UEFIExtract on the root directory for all the commits as well.
Response
Expected
- Put UEFI BIOS in roms/1 folder
- Run python3 -m biostools -x roms, where it will grab header files and EPA pictures from the BIOS
- Run python3 -m biostools -a roms/0 | tee bioslist.csv, where it will output BIOS information into bioslist.csv (response of 86Bot)
- EFI BIOS information in bioslist.csv and header/EPA files in roms/0 folder
Result
EFI BIOS information is empty in bioslist.csv and header/EPA files are not extracted at all, which isn't the case with the older commits
