How to get back to previous version? This one does't work offline. Please explain if possible like to a 5 year old :(

All this website is for me an arcane mess. how do I revert the automatic 1111 setup like it was before the recent upgrade?

I know I'm an idiot with the git pull

all these famous youtubers tell me to git pull there and git pull here.

To revert to the previous version: git reset --hard 22bcc7be428c94e9408f589966c2040187245d81 (or any version by going to commits and copying the hash of the commit you want to revert to)

To update again: git pull

where/how do I put or use the get reset? Is that in the command prompt? In A111?

you open a console command window. I don't remember which directory you need to be in but try first going to the top a1111 folder, the one where the launch.py and webui.py is located, then in the folder path area click once, delete the path and write cmd then hit enter. the console window should open

Just in general if you have any doubts about your 150 Gigabytes of models getting deleted, you should already have backups made anyway.

Another down / upgrade workflow using the release version and git reset:

If you ever made changes to your webui-user.bat first create a backup of your
webui-user.bat since it will be overwritten with a clean one in this steps.

In CMD console jump into your

\stable-diffusion-webui root

folder

then type or paste

git reset --hard v1.5.2

or

git reset --hard v1.5.1

to switch to whatever version you prefer.

Then ovewrite the clean webui-user.bat with your old webui-user.bat

Then start the Webui as usual and it will perhaps receive some files.

If you would like to go higher again or lower you have to run the Automatic1111 GUI in the browser you switched to at least one time.
Then you can close it and add the command in the cmd console again.

The hash / commit workflow has been new to me so thx for also posting that.

I just tested it again and with 1.5.2

i do get

and if i launch it then it shows

I just tested it again and with 1.5.2

i do get

In the end , run the updated version with "python launch.py" and nothing else, it updated a few files and after that used my old webui.bat now it is running smooth with 1.6. But , yeah "git reset --hard v1.5.1" gave error , only if I enter a specific commit number it seems to do something but even after that it updated to 1.6 anyway. In the end np, it is working as 1.6. Every extension seems to be working too.
