LDAP authentication

How hard would it be to implement LDAP authentication as an authentication option?

Would this be implemented as a module or a script?

I am trying to add a simple ldap auth so I can run this app in Syncloud (https://github.com/syncloud/platform)
Would creators of this project accept something like this? cyberb@d5efeee
I need to test it first of course.
