Can I return JPEG base64 string from the Automatic1111 API response?

Hi, I am using the Automatic1111 api to fetch my outputs, and I notice that I only get PNG base64 strings in the response. Since I am using this api in a production environment, I would like the API to return me a jpeg base64 string, since its size is a little less. Can someone help me out with this?

Set the format in Settings > Saving images/grids.
