you can't use api args as StableDiffusionProcessingImg2Img args
it's easier to call the api then directly use StableDiffusionProcessingImg2Img

updating the arguments directly is is very messy

  look for comments on update_script_args, note this code is not merged into webui so so you can't use it

StableDiffusionProcessingImg2Img dose not take script_args": { controlnet": ....
you are passing the args wrong
the args is a tuple/list of valuse, script.args_to script.args_from defines which values belongs to which script/extension

the above of knowledge is for general scripts script/extension, controlnet it is NOT general
there are some extra layers on tp of webui that complicate things even further
