I have updated from V1.7 to 1.93 and instantly was no longer able to create embeddings
I searched this forum, other places and the best people came up with was the workaround set COMMANDLINE_ARGS= --disable-safe-unpickle in the "webui-user.bat". I thought this would work until I have delivered embeddings to a client. It seems when I ignore the alleged error, it appears on the next computer. I have a couple of thousand downloads per week on CivitAI and obviously I cannot upload corrupted files. It is beyond me that this issue came up in 2022 and still exists without a proper fix, all promising topics were derailed by opinions which is really frustrating and sad.
In hopes that we can find the reason for this, and offer the world a fix in terms that everyone can follow....
I have uninstalled, everything, cleaned out the cache, the user files everything, used different paths and drives to figure out if it's something that got corrupted along the way... Clean Install and the exact same problems

This is what happens when I hit "Create Embedding" similar errors appear when it tries to read it or anyone file that was created with the safe unpickle disabled.

I'd rather fix the issue because it persists for years and also affects other aspects and there are quite some people struggling with it.
Kohya is nice when you have no professional approach and people want to create an embeddings with a handful of randomly selected training data, effectively it is overloading the embedding with too much information that ultimately lead to inconsistencies and the amount of information forced into the embedding are distracting from the actual training data which results in less freedom for the user.
More options, doesn't mean it's better.
