Putting blank into the negative prompts gives different results as putting in nothing

As the titles says. Is this the normal/expected behaviour or a bug?

I tested this multiple checkpoints including SDXL base.

It's hard to ber certain, but I sense that a blank space in the negative prompts gives better results than leaving it empty. It helps especially with blurring sometimes.
