I'm on a 5090 FE from a 3090, on an old Windows 11 installation, all seem to work fine after I did a clean installation from the Method 1. share here. Although I was having issues at the beginning trying to use a "Latent tile batch size" of 8, It was taking the memory to my RAM and taking ages. Thanks for sharing this information was life saving! |

On a 5080. My screen turns black the moment I try to generate an image. On low res like 512x512 the screen will return after a few seconds but on higher resolutions it stays black and I need to restart the PC to fix the issue. The image still generates. Today's nvidia driver hotfix didn't fix the problem. |

Using Reforge it downloads the official release of a nightly for Cuda 12.8 for windows that was released a few days ago. But here, same issue. It seems semi stable with certain checkpoints, while others crashes the GPU into a black screen it cant recover from on first generation every time. I've been able to run some realistic models for maybe 20 generations, but then randomly crash. I've got a 5080 as well. It seems support and optimization is horrible and we might have to wait a month or so more before they figure out how to run it stable. |

I have.
first, install nvidia driver from nvidia site.
theni follow the regular steps.
then activate the venv
and run pip install --pre torch torchvision torchaudio --index-url

then run bash webui.sh.
tested on linux mint latest using rtx 5080.

thank you so much for this. I am totally new in this artistic field and learning along the way. After a week of troubleshooting in my free time, and a little lost sleep, I was able to pinpoint the "no kernel" error presented when using an RTX 50 series GPU A sufficiently informed google search then brought me to this solution. I'm just a normal dude with sub average to average at best overall skill with capabilities of a modern computer, and zero formal training in any categories or fields pertaining to this concept. I know it's a tired cliche but if I could get all this to work just for fun in my downtime, anybody with a little patience would be able to as well; but only thanks to communal information provided by the wonderful people who believe in the potential of their fellow man. |

Thanks everyone! Based on the info shared in this discussion, I was able to successfully enable xformers on my Windows + RTX 5080 environment. Since the steps were a bit scattered, I put together a detailed guide below. Hope it helps anyone else trying to do the same! The GitHub Discussions contain some useful links, but I found them a bit fragmented and hard to follow—especially for people not familiar with Python environments. Since I recently set up Stable Diffusion WebUI with RTX 5080 (Blackwell) on Windows and got Prerequisites
Note: I ran all commands using Clone the Repositorygit clone https://github.com/AUTOMATIC1111/stable-diffusion-webui.git First Launch (GPU will not be used yet)This will initialize the webui-user.bat Once the browser tab opens, close the terminal or press Replace PyTorch and torchvision (Blackwell-compatible)1. Activate the Python virtual environmentcd stable-diffusion-webui 2. Uninstall current versionspip uninstall torch torchvision 3. Download and install Blackwell-compatible buildsDownloads available here: Specifically for Python 3.10:
Install both: pip install torch-2.6.0+cu128.nv-cp310-cp310-win_amd64.whl You might see some error or warnings, but if it ends with:
then you're good! Enable xformersEdit set COMMANDLINE_ARGS=--force-enable-xformers --xformers Then exit the venv: deactivate And relaunch: webui-user.bat Benchmark (SDXL 1024x1024, sampling steps = 64)Hardware: RTX 5080
I hope this guide is helpful to someone! |

Hello mate, in my particular case, I don use Hires at all, I use the tiled
VAE + tiled diffusion approach with a modifier to sharpen the image, that
means SD will fragment the image in small squares and render them
separately and then stitch them back together, depending on the settings
you use, this will show or not show the squares in the final image, with
this approach the generation of large scale images takes way less time
processing and rendering rather than asking SD to render a Hires image of
huge amount of pixels. Of course all dependant on the type of hardware you
have.
I hope this helps, there is plenty of tutorials in YouTube and guides
online of how to set up the Tiled VAE+Tiled Diffusion work stream.
Best wishes!

I’d like to share my personal experience running Stable Diffusion via Automatic1111’s WebUI on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 (SM_120). I’ve encountered persistent CUDA errors stating “no kernel image is available for execution on the device.” What I’ve tried so far: Standard Automatic1111 WebUI setup Cloned repo, created virtual environment, ran launch.py; dependencies installed automatically. Everything seems downloaded, but model fails to load during weight initialization due to the CUDA capability issue. Different PyTorch variations and tools Used official PyTorch releases with CUDA 12.1. Tried nightly builds supporting CUDA 12.8. Enabled debugging flags: TORCH_USE_CUDA_DSA=1 and CUDA_LAUNCH_BLOCKING=1. Community suggestions and workarounds Followed various methods from forums and earlier discussion posts—branch switches, revised arguments, custom environment variables. Why this matters I use Stable Diffusion as part of Ameca, a personal AI assistant built on Node.js and WA-Automate-NodeJS. It’s vital for automating visual content generation. And it's not just my use case—dozens to hundreds of users have requested me to bring back image generation functionality, so it’s quite impactful. Despite all efforts, the model still fails on SM_120. From my testing, full official support for RTX 50-series on Windows isn't functional yet, despite the instructions mentioned. Request to maintainers Could you please clarify: Is there a fully supported pathway for SM_120 devices on Windows? Are the dev methods (dev branch, reinstall flags, standalone builds) expected to resolve the issue? Any reliable workaround I might have overlooked? Thanks in advance for any guidance you can offer! |
