Removing all dependencies, and starting again from scratch

Someone else installed Stable Diffusion Automatic111 for me, a friend of a friend. It's been perfectly OK for me up until now so I've never had to really know anything about Stable Diffusion other than how to use it to generate images.

I recently upgraded form a 30 series graphics card to a 50 series, and now Automatic111 is broken.

I tried to fix it using various forums, but I think that I've just made things worse and none of the fixes that other people have found are fixing it for me. My installation is in a mess, and I don't know enough about Stable Diffusion to answer most of the questions that people are asking me when I ask for help to fix it. So I'd like to remove as many of the components and dependencies as possible from my system so that I can start again with a fresh installation.

The problem is that I don't know what the dependencies are, or how to remove them. I'm not even sure how to find things like version numbers.

Are there any guides available that will give me specific instructions - suitable for a beginner - that tell me what I need to remove and how to remove it?

My original error message was:

UserWarning: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 with CUDA capability sm_120 is not compatible with the current PyTorch installation

But I think that I've broken things even more by blundering in and doing the wrong thing. I'll revisit that error message at a later date, once I've uninstalled everything.

I'm using Windows 10 only. I don't know what versions of Python etc I am using, things are borked so badly that I'm not sure it matters any more, hence wanting to clean and start again rather than fix.

I'd like to clean the slate before attempting a reinstall, I've tried several other methods and they've all failed. I've been getting additional error messages about having the incorrect version of NumPy.

Infinite111 is just me confusing Stable Diffusion Automatic111 with Stable Diffusion Infinity. It's just another front end for Stable Diffusion, it has a better interface for out painting. IT's just as broken as it shares dependencies. Fixing one should fix the other.

well method 1 IS starting form a clean state
it dose not reuse or share python (you literally don't need to install python or git as they are included in the download)

if you really want to count dependencies

• then you need Windows 64bit (more of a prerequisite than dependencies)

if you wish to start from a "cleaner state" then you need to reinstall the entire OS (you shouldn't need to)

• Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable most people would already have installed because lots of program use it

if you really want to then reinstall it then download it here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist#latest-microsoft-visual-c-redistributable-version
but there shouldn't be much need of reinstalling it

• up to date nvidia driver

if you think the driver is causing the issue then you should do a clean install of the driver

I assume that you have updated your driver after you upgreaded your GPU

It failed to install properly. Multiple error messages.

When I ran Update.bat it said that it couldn't launch environment.bat.

When I tried to run Switch-branchtoole.bat it said

did you run the update.bat by Double clicking it?
if you did I dont see how

I pressed the enter key rather than double clicking on Update.bat. But I don't see how that would have made any difference.

Windows came up with an error message asking me if I was sure that I wanted to run a file form an unverified source, my understanding is that this is normal now. I've had that message before. I just clicked through.

add the below 2 lines to switch-branch-toole.bat update.bat run.bat after @echo off

chcp 65001 >NUL
cd /d "%~dp0"

it should look like this

@echo off
chcp 65001 >NUL
cd /d "%~dp0"

... OTHER STUFF ...

add above to the 3 bat files make sure to press save the file then before running them

I am trying to fix

is as if the file is not there ot you are running from a difrent work directory
by adding the above it shoud make sure that it woul use the correctly dir

question what system language dose your PC use?

note: best you delete your current dir sd.webui (to start from scratch)

A friend just fixed this for me.

Another program kept pulling down an incompatible version of Python in the background - hence the NumPy messages - Turned off automatic updates, Method 1 fixed everything.

Python is all Greek to me.

glad you got it working

though I'm still not sure what going on your system
if environment.bat was executed properly it will tell it to use the the python bundled with the zip file (so it won't care what python your system is using)
but for some reason strange it wasn't able to run environment.bat
