Sampling Steps

I have a question about the Sampling Steps option. My understanding is that starting from the start image, the result is used n times again as the start image in a new step.

I would now expect that if you start with the same seed, the first images will always be the same whether you choose 20 or 50 steps. The same images should be generated up to step 20.

If you set in the settings that the creation process is displayed, you can clearly see that depending on the number of steps, the images are not the same at the start.

That is the way it was implemented. It would be better if at step 8 it shows an actual step 8 result, it would save time generating on an xy plot. I don't know if its possible. Maybe the live images in the hlky repo work differently, I haven't checked.

This is the way current schedulers work. Assuming you use the same sampler, the rate of change (at each step) will be different if you use 20 or 50 steps in total. This is like going from point A (start) to point B (goal) in 20 giant steps, or in 50 little steps. Same start, same goal (B), but the result might be different... Sometimes not too much, some other times, huge differences.
