I agree. Not many would use the API without a license |

Automatic1111's web gui is great, but long term is a question as it has no explicit license. It's free for all, has available code, is extensible, has no posted use restrictions - all great. Is there reasons for not MIT or Apache licensing the repo? As a community of users we could start in mass encouraging this. |

We need this for obvious reasons. |

If there is no license, GPL, CC-BY-SA, or anything, this repo is technically under full copyright and possibly not even allowed on Git. So I totally agree with @Gerschel et al. |

Read more here. #24 I am not posting this to call anyone out. Just as information that I have found. In my opinion, I can understand the challenge to implement a license, because you don't know the direction it could go, if it will bite you in the ass later, the difficulty/ability to choose a license after contributions. I think we need to run a poll, have contributors that have merges applied, make a vote. They would have to agree that the vote becomes final. Others would have to agree to not contribute anymore until after a license has been put in place. An interesting thought, does this mean that during that window of time, forks from this project can argue that they created derivative works in good faith that a license was choosen? This other project is a fork, that applied the license on August 29th, during the time when Automatic1111 said that was the license he was going to use. https://github.com/Sygil-Dev/sygil-webui/blob/master/LICENSE |

Can Auto add a license for this repo? wouldn't that lead to some problem down the road especially with APIs?
