face restoration looks worse?

Hello I've dropped the file GFPGANv1.4.pth in the same folder as webui.py, however checking the face restoration box has no effect. Same seed, same photo.

How can I troubleshoot?

Apologies, I now do see a change after some restarts. But pictures can look worse with face restoration?
The face restoration enabled pictures have double eyes and blurred, reflective plastic faces. The non-face restoration faces, look sometimes way better, except for the eyes.

I'm testing by fixing the seed.
