This new update to "high-res fix" makes non-1:1 or high vertical resolution genning for large resolutions pretty much non-viable. Even if you go to resolutions as close as possible to the 512 initial res, and do multiple upscales/img2img it's overall worse.
Any 16:9 or ultrawide generations are pretty much deformed or bad. The reason why this is fundamentally an issue is because you cannot specify midterm resolutions like so that are NOT locked to a ratio:

I understand that there was extra data being generated either cropped or culled, however even with the old way most of the 4k gens weren't cropped poorly. Here's 200+ 4k wallpapers I made on the old high-res fix as an example: https://imgur.com/a/f1F0LUc
Simple fix, just add a checkmark next to sample select to 'specify res' and return that functionality.
Is it easier to use? sorta? But overall makes worse generations unless you stick close to 1:1 or tall formats and requires more steps for proper up-scaling to maintain details and preventing deformities.
