Auto can't rest for a week without people ready to jump ship.. It's not the first time, let the guy get some rest. Also, contributions from the community still need to be reviewed before merging. That's work. edit: no wonder your name seemed familiar lol #4591 |

I'm not sure why people are jumping on this guy... he has valid points. With the current level of activity it may be "too much" for one person. Burnout is a real thing. Cracking the whip at Auto isn't the answer. He doesn't "owe" anyone anything. Having more than one person with commit rights could be good for the project. Give Auto a break for goodness sakes! |

Yes burnout can be a real thing here. Automatic1111 deserves credit for having worked on this project for so many months in a row, fully free of charge for everyone. What I personally appreciate is that he also takes his break at a point where the project has become more stable (e.g. compared to some changes mid-January). Where I'm also grateful that he considered my own pull requests for two of the issues, and then cared to implement it himself in a better manner. All in all stable social circles matter. The best and most helpful thing would be really how Automatic1111 can be supported. Like let's say, would he take additional maintainers? More testers for pull requests? People who help him implement things that he personally wants to see in the UI? These are all points that are more likely to bring his interest back. But of course I also understand your frustration AbyszOne. Because since of the release of ControlNet extensions, the speed of Stable Diffusion innovation has kind of skyrocketed. |

Yeah, I've noticed this. 2 months ago you had commits literally every hour. Now, 1 commit every week. the tech is moving too fast for 1 guy to have his claws on the most popular tool in this space. We need an alternative or he needs to give access to this repo to other senior\seasoned devs. |

Autoxanders empire could be fractured into multiple competing forks and split into the different camps with different maintainers. But wouldn't that have already happened if someone else was just as capable? |

I agree that this is a serious issue. Honestly, while I appreciate Auto's efforts in maintaining this repo, I think it would be helpful if he allowed others to help with the work. It's difficult for one person to keep up with a repo of this size, and it's possible that he may not even remember how some of the code works, given that it was written by other contributors. Moreover, I think this repo is somewhat messy for an open-source project. There aren't any clear priorities or tasks for potential contributors, making it hard to know where to start. With almost 1500 issues, it's tough to see which ones have been addressed in recent releases. It's simply not feasible for one person to fix all these problems, which is why I believe having more people maintain this repo is crucial. |

For people who talk about "common sense.": Common sense is: If you don't like how this repo works, Fork it and add/merge the PRs.. you have access to everything... Stop complaining and work for what you want, stop asking for someone else to do the job for you. |

Auto1111 was always the most up-to-date gui with dizzying changes, but lately several days go by without accepting fix updates and improvements that are highly relevant and hinder the work of users. Changes that are contributed voluntarily by the community.
Is this trend an indication that this gui needs a change of direction or alternative?
