Noob here: Are you able to refine previously generated image?

Just like title, I find myself liking multiple images that i generate and would like to further refine them but i don't or can't at the time they were created. So im thinking of keeping all the setting info on a text file with an image of that character to be able to plug it back into SD and refine? or should i save the image and put it in img2img and refine from there? what would be a good workflow? There is a TON of info to go through and read on AI im try to wrap my head around. Thanks.

info is all saved already in the image itself, just look in image browser extension or plop it into the png info tab
you can set it to save all image generations
