Is the webui on gradio 3.2 "update" going to stay this slow and clunky, or is it still in progress?

I finally tried updating everything thinking that the whole gradio update mess was all fixed, but it's still a massive downgrade; every UI element interaction takes between 2 and 10 seconds when it was all nearly instant previously. Is this just how it's going to be now? Or is there work to be done to properly integrate everything to the new UI? Even if I pass off Image Browser, which is just unusable now. as an extension issue, every basic interaction also takes way longer than before.

This would have been a pain to undo if I didn't backup everything, too. I don't know which extension is compatible with older webui version.

It works on 3.23 but some things are wonky. I went back to 3.16 I believe it is.

Everything is waiting on auto, dude disappears for weeks at a time and is the only one that can approve merges.

It is simply a misery to use the webui on colab because of the gradio. Slow responsiveness, live preview doesn't work, inpaint is forgettable. It really used to be better, but now it's almost unusable.
