Additional networks extension does not give a lora option

I've installed (and uninstalled and reinstalled) the additional networks extension for automatic1111. When I click on the icon under "generate" it gives me subtags for "textual inversion", "hyper networks", and "checkpoints" but it does not give a tab for "lora" even though I have seen a tab for lora in several videos. Additionally, when I manually add the text for a lora "lora:name_here:0.8" and have the lora in the folder /models/lora, my terminal always says it is skipping the unknown lora. I am on a Mac, fyi. Can anyone suggest anything I can do to fix this?
