Any plans to support Final Doom in the future?

There is a notable lack of efforts in making executable hacks for Final Doom (the non-anthology executable at least, as that has dehacked support). As the title suggests, is this something you plan on working on?

Hi, thank you for opening an issue.

I didn't plan to make efforts for Final Doom, here's why:

• Most hacks that were created were made for Doom 2 v1.9 because it's the most popular version of Doom.
• Final Doom can be played with the Doom 2 v1.9 exe.
• It's not easy to port hacks for the Doom 2 v1.9 exe to the Final Doom exe and it's highly time-consuming.

I see some disadvantages to this (in favor of a patcher for Final Doom) because Final Doom has a teleporter bug (fixed in anthology version), bouncing lost souls (a bug fix) and the anthology version fixed the sky bug. Some demos may desync, but in my opinion, it's not worth the effort.

If you have more arguments in favor of a Doom patcher for Final Doom, please let me know.

Well the main thing is running WADs that come with dehacked patches but exceed certain limits (namely savegamesize) despite being labelled as "vanilla-compatible". Prime examples being Plutonia 2 (savegame overflow) and TNT: Revilution (doesn't run at all in vanilla despite labelled otherwise). Perhaps it is a rather small and pedantic reason to be asking about it, as any possible alternatives for running in DOS simply don't exist anymore (i.e. Archy's fdoomp)

I'll try to find a copy of FDoomP. The closest thing that I know is udoomhack by Xttl: udoomhack_r2.zip

This is great stuff, thank you. As nice as this is, it's a shame it's littered with so many caveats. Requiring Doom2.wad to run, dehacked support being janky and incomplete, and so on. Nevertheless, it's a great find, hopefully somebody can use it as a base to make a more complete version.
