Increase signal support for SDI Aja.

We at Pixar would like to have increased signal support for SDI Aja. In particular:

• Stereo support over 3 G/sec
• 4K support over 12 G/sec

This feature is definitely on our radar.
The difficult is with the AJA SDI output routing which is currently hardcoded in RV/OpenRV.

12G+Kona5 Limitation: The Kona5 only supports 12G on the SDI Output #3 and #4. NOT on the SDI Output #1 and #2 which are the only supported SDI outputs supported by OpenRV/RV because the AJA SDI output routing is hardcoded unfortunately.
Which means that we can only add 12G in AJA support in RV by first adding new routing options in RV.

I guess you are interested in supporting this on the Kona5 right ?
Let me know if this is for another AJA card in case it might be easier to implement on the AJA card Pixar is using.

In any case, thank you for communicating this here as it will surely influence which feature we decide to develop next.

Hi,

We are interested in the following:

1. 1: 3G LevelB-DS support for stereo (2048x1080) (i.e. left eye / right eye 1.5 4:2:2 muxed into one 3G stream). This would be on the Kona 4 or Kona 5.

2. 4096 x 2160 RGB12 over 12g single link on the Kona 5. We understand this would have to use output 3 or 4 rather than output1.

3. Dual 3G stereo output (i.e. separate 3G outputs for left eye and right eye at 2048x1080 RGB12. Kona 4 or Kona 5. If this could be muxed into a single 6G dual stream link that would be helpful.
