I have self-hosted applications that run across several machines.
Currently, I'm using subdomains to create records for each machine. E.g. <SERVICE_NAME>.<MACHINE_NAME>.<TLD>. This works well but creates inconsistencies.
I was wondering if there was some DNS trickery with IPs/CNAMEs that I could use so that I could use a simpler format (<SERVICE_NAME>.<TLD>) and the correct machine would answer it.
