As a comment on how other developer implemented this, Syncthing-Fork by Catfriend1 also has this sync-conflict warnings in the GUI wrapper recently, just to add for code reference, the programming languages might differ but it is a reference on how it is implemented. So I think reference for implementation plan is a worthy material to say.

It is not exhaustive, though. so the warnings are not really telling comprehensively about the conflict, I also lost some files from Obsidian diff feature, I probably won't ever dedupe in Obsidian anymore. I use dedupe on SD-Maid-SE and czkawka, no problem so far using SD-Maid-SE dedupe feature. Dedupe/diff might a nice feature to accompany sync conflict warning feature, but this is getting too broad, and would be another feature request, so I'll stop here.
