No callback from entrypoints.setup

When I use entrypoints.setup to customize the plugin panel, my show function is only called when the panel is first opened, and hide is never called. This is not useful, since I could just use create instead of show. It would be nice if show and hide detected when the panel is opened/closed. (I am trying to restart the plugin when the user closes/reopens it - if anyone knows another way to achieve this, please let me know!)

Looked on the internet a bit and apparently people have been saying that entrypoints.setup basically doesn't work at all. This is a pretty big inconvenience, say, if you want your plugin to re-read the document every time the panel is opened (having a "re-read" button is really unintuitive). I'm basically just running my whole plugin in a dialog element for now, so I can put listeners for show and hide, but I'd appreciate a fix.
