[BUG] fully connected ore scanner is not detecting any ores

Description of the problem

My ore scanner is not detecting any ores, it is fully connected here is its tooltip:

but even when I select an ore that you can see from this screenshot is right next to me:

it does not show any ores.
does it require power or have I missed something here?
this was also tested in a pack instance with no other mods and the same problem occurs (using the same satellite setup)
