Checkout payment step: Adyen form not accessibility compliant

Steps to reproduce

1. Install Adyen MAGENTO 2 v9.18.1
2. It uses checkout form v5.71.1, which is supposed to be accessibility compliant (per your

docs)
3. Go to the checkout payment step and observe how the form has placeholders instead of notes below input.

Actual behavior

On Magento 2 checkout payment step it shows the same form with placeholders inside etc..

Expected behavior

Form has to be accessibility compliant, without placeholders, but display noted below the inputs , like you show on Demo site https://www.mystoredemo.io/#/checkout

Thank you for creating this issue. However, I assume there is a misinterpretation of the documentation.

The screenshot that you shared has been taken from Web Components/Drop-in v6.0.0 release notes. These changes are not part of v5.71.3. As you mentioned, mystoredemo.io uses v6.x.x of the web components.

As the Web Components migration from v5 to v6 contains breaking changes, we decided to release the latest version of the web components with our upcoming major version of the plugin. V10 of the payment plugin contains this migration. You can find the relevant pull-request here.

The estimated release date of the new major version is early H2 2025. Please upgrade the plugin to v10 for accessibility compliance.

I am linking this issue to the relevant milestone. This Github issue will automatically be closed after releasing V10.

Thank you for your response. I would say early H2 2025 but we are planning to release a release-candidate version soon before the actual release. If you are interested in early access to RC, please send a request to support@adyen.com indicating your interest in Adobe Commerce V10 and adding the link of this Github Issue. Our product manager will reach out you eventually.

Thank you for your patience. The latest version of the plugin has already been released with Adyen Web Library V6 which provides major improvements on the accessibility compliance.

You can upgrade the payment plugin to use that version of payment components.
