2nd Temp Probe

This is an impressive little project. I'm just starting to dig my chops into it. Looks like quite a bit of reverse engineering went into this. Did you guys use wireshark or something similar to sniff out the various commands?

I've noticed that you only appear to support a single probe while newer models have a 2nd probe. I'm interested in doing some work on this project and figured after getting acquainted this might be a good place to start.

I guess the first thing I need to do is connect to my grill and see if even getting grill info works and then compare it to the emulator.

Hi, Thanks for the interest in the project. So I was mostly just bored one night and reverse engineered the grill protocol by running tcpdump on my router while inspecting the pcap dumps with a hex editor. I just upgraded to the new dual probe version of the grill, so it might be time to upgrade some packages and give this project some more love. Please feel free to contribute.

I look forward to contributing. I've already made some changes locally that makes things a little more compatible with windows and less reliant on global installs. I'll have a QoL branch in my fork with the next few days.

I have a Unifi network setup so capturing the network traffic should be easy. I took Monday off from work and will be smoking a brisket. That should provide a great opportunity to monitor the grill.

Looks like I'm unable to connect to my GMG Ledge Prime. I've provided the IP as part of the config and no dice.

I've ran Angry IP Scanner across my entire network. The host I've identified manually as the grill doesn't have any ports open. I only have a single host with 8080 open and I know it's not the grill. Am I missing something obvious here?

I am running the grill in local mode (whatever you call not server)
