Duplicate scope does not work

Regardless of the field in which the duplicate scope is set, the duplicate check field is always the default one (i.e. the first field).

I am pretty sure you can't modify that, anki defines duplicates as anything where the first field matches, and ankiconnect lets you choose whether it should allow duplicates, and where it should look for them if duplicates are not allowed: https://git.sr.ht/~foosoft/anki-connect#codeaddnotecode
