SDR++ will no start on Ubuntu 22.04

I installed sdr++ on my new ubuntu 22.04 pc this afternoon. It installed fine, no errors. However when I open it, it starts to load then closes, all in about 2 or 3 seconds. No errors. I had the same problem on another linux pc a few weeks ago and never did figure it out. FYI, I'm using a sdrplay rsp1 and the api drivers have been downloaded and installed.
