How to setup Nordic to look like the screenshot?

@AlexvZyl I absolutely LOVE how this theme looks in the screenshots of the readme:

...however it doesn't quite look as cool in my Neovim setup:

@AlexvZyl how did you configure Neovim to have your theme look like this?

• What font are you using?
• How did you get your borders between each window to look so nice?
  • Your borders look like they're 2px thick and don't have any background colour around them like mine

FWIW I'm using the LazyVim distro of Neovim, Kitty terminal on Mac.

It looks like you're using Linux, but I'm still curious how you were able to get your borders and different windows looking so nice?

Hmm. Pretty sure the big difference is I was using rust in my screenshot 😉 I actually am 50% serious. I don't really do frontend stuff so I never saw what it looks like with my theme. We might have to tweak some values. Or the lsp tokens could have changed since I took that screenshot and look different now...

Also, I was using these borders in that screenshot: https://github.com/AlexvZyl/nvim/blob/c68409dd2345f5c9c207f9da0a6f5f8b63e75bdf/lua/alex/utils/chars.lua#L32. They sit on the edges of the terminal cells so they look a lot cleaner.

Probably also worth noting that I have changed my neovim config philosophy quite drastically over the years. Been stripping it down as far as I can.

Yes, that is the default neovim theme. With some tweaks, ofcourse.

I thought you might be using those chars to draw the box around the edges...agreed that it makes things look MUCH cleaner.

The issue I am having is that I am finding it very hard to track down how to set the borders of all the various windows spawned by the various plugins.

Do you have any tools/tips/utils for doing this in a sane and centralised manner rather than trying to figure out how a plugin exposes these borders...if it does at all!?

It's a slippery and time consuming slope refining the visual aesthetic of Neovim isn't...but you seem to be like me in that you think it's worth it with the lengths you've gone to in this domain 😍

I actually considered at one time to make a plugin that handles exactly this that you are talking about. Just something that centralizes some of the configs. It can be a bit of a pain sometimes...

Neovim 0.11 dropped vim.opt.winborder, which you can set to "rounded", giving all of the windows rounded borders. Though, very few plugins support this at the moment, causing most windows to have two sets of borders. Let's see what happens when the plugins catch up.
