Add support for ARM images on Google Cloud

With the announcement of the new Google Axion processors, it would be great to have access to the AlmaLinux images for ARM architecture. Currently, only the x64 images are available.

I can see that the ARM images are available on AWS, so I assume making them available on GCP would be possible aswell.

Do you have any plans to support AlmaLinux ARM images on GCP ? Any informations would be much appreciated :)

Hi Gouy and other community members who thumbs up the request,

The AlmaLinux OS images are publised and maintained by Google Cloud Platform (GCP), not the AlmaLinux OS Foundation.

Unlike the other cloud providers, GCP has not provided any credits/sponsorship/resources, and we don't have any collaboration to be able to test the new architecture and/or processors before they become generally available.

I hope this situation will be improved in the future after they see such demands from the customers like you.

Thanks for the answer, we will definitevely reach out to our GCP customer support regarding AlmaLinux ARM images. I'm actually not sure if they would prioritize this simply because RockyLinux ARM images are available...

Perhaps, We never know until we ask or demand it.
