why can't i push the subscene after startNewGame()

this is my custom engine service:
`public class GameEngineService extends EngineService {

@Override
public void onGameReady(@NotNull PropertyMap vars) {
    System.out.println("GameEngineService.onGameReady() called");
    Platform.runLater(()-> {
        FXGL.getSceneService().pushSubScene(new ChooseStartPrize());
    System.out.println("abc");});

and when i startNewGame(), i can see "abc“ in console, but it can't push the subscene

Hi, I suspect this is because runLater() is executed immediately. Try adding a delayed run:

run( () -> { push subscene }, Duration.seconds(0.1) );
