Node placement with coordinates

I think it's possible in cytoscape to adjust the locations of the nodes based on given coordinates. Is this something you have applied that is undocumented or is this not possible?

Hi @mashabotch, not entirely sure what you are asking about. Are you looking to manually position nodes using specific coordinates (e.g. fixed x, y values) as input from the python side? If so, that is not currently supported

Feel free to share a bit more detail or an example of what you are trying to achieve, and I will be happy to take a closer look

@AlrasheedA Indeed; what @mashabotch is asking is actually placing the nodes on specific coords (fixed). Now if we update a diagram the nodes are placed always in different positions and the cytoscapeJS has a 'preset' layout for this.

it actually works when you format your elements dictionary correctly. Use: {"data": {"id": 2, "label": "Node B"},"position": { "x": 100, "y": 100 }} . Also when calling st_link_analysis use st_link_analysis(elements, layout={"name": "preset"}, node_styles=node_styles, edge_styles=edge_styles)
