TextSnap Contacts Extractor (“the Extension”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining the trust of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when you use our Chrome Extension, available on the Chrome Web Store.
TextSnap Contacts Extractor is designed to help users export contacts from WhatsApp Web easily.
The extension can extract contacts, including labeled contacts and group members, and export them in multiple formats such as CSV, Excel, JSON, or vCard.
We prioritize your privacy and ensure that all contact data processing happens locally within your browser.
No contact or personal data is sent to our servers or shared with any third party.
The extension itself does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email, address, or WhatsApp contact data.
The only data collected is anonymous usage analytics to help us understand how the extension is being used.
This is done through a privacy-focused analytics service, Aptabase, which follows GDPR and other privacy regulations.
Collected analytics data may include:
- Number of times the extension is opened or used
- Feature usage counts (for example, “Export CSV clicked”)
- Technical information such as browser type and version
No WhatsApp data, message content, or personal identifiers are collected or transmitted at any point.
The anonymous analytics collected via Aptabase are used for the following purposes:
- To understand general usage trends and improve extension performance
- To detect and fix bugs or errors
- To plan new features and enhance user experience
We never use analytics data for:
- Advertising or marketing
- Profiling or tracking individual users
- Selling or sharing with third parties
The extension requires minimal permissions necessary to function properly:
Used to access the currently active WhatsApp Web tab (https://web.whatsapp.com/*) to read visible contact information.
This permission is triggered only when the user activates the extension manually.
Used to store extracted contacts and user preferences temporarily within the browser.
No data is transmitted to remote servers, and all stored data can be cleared by the user at any time.
The extension has host access only to: https://web.whatsapp.com/
This is required to read visible contact information directly from WhatsApp Web.
It does not access, modify, or monitor any other websites or browser activity.
Because TextSnap Contacts Extractor processes all contact information locally, there is no risk of server-side data breaches.
Anonymous analytics data collected via Aptabase are transmitted securely over HTTPS and stored in compliance with modern security standards.
We take all reasonable measures to protect user data from unauthorized access or misuse.
We use Aptabase, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to collect anonymous usage metrics.
Aptabase does not collect personal data, track users across sites, or store personally identifiable information.

TextSnap Contacts Extractor is not designed for or directed toward children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through this extension, please contact us for immediate removal.
Since no personal data or extracted contact information is stored remotely, there is no long-term data retention.
Anonymous analytics data collected via Aptabase are kept in aggregated form and do not contain any identifying information.
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect improvements or legal requirements.
