Problem case

We advertise that a user can customize export templates but it isn't clear how to do so. I can save a template to the PDF exporter addon but there is no option to select a different template when exporting. In addition, it isn't clear to the user how to alter the template.

Solution

I think we could simplify the process by removing the option to customize a template and just have a dropdown box appear when exporting to PDF to choose which fields to print and whether or not to include media. Alternatively, we could figure out how to make customizing a template clear to the user but that sounds more difficult and unnecessary.

There's no dropdown to choose a template because each template is linked to a specific note type and may not be used with other types.
We can add a simplified dropdown to choose which fields to include but I think we should keep templates option for advanced users. Any thoughts @RisingOrange @AnKingMed?

I think keeping template options for advanced users makes sense, but I think we should make this a bit more user friendly. Right now it's quite complicated and I frequently get emails about it.
