Spotify Setup: INVALID_CLIENT: Invalid redirect URI

Hello and thank you for this plugin! I am excited to get it going but I had an issue connecting to Spotify.

I added both redirect URI as the popup suggests.

Add one of these Redirect URIs to your Spotify Developer Dashboard:

Configured:
http://homeassistant.local:9012/callback
📋

Suggested:
https://192.168.0.87:9013/callback
📋

One thing I noticed is that Spotify no longer accepts the http URL, I could only input the first one if I changed to https.

Either way, I get INVALID_CLIENT: Invalid redirect URI when trying to connect it.

So the error clearly points to a Redirect URI issue.

So based on the limited info I can see here, it seems like you have configured this URL: http://homeassistant.local:9012/callback

In SyncLyrics settings. That one won't work at all.

Please use the 'Suggested URL' it is showing. The same URL should be set up inside Spotify Dev dashboard and also in SyncLyrics settings (can be an ENV variable).

When that's done, the popup will show that configured URL and suggested URL are same.

And you're right that Spotify does not allow HTTP URLs except for localhost. And with Home Assistant, localhost is not really possible.

If you still face issues, please report back and attach some logs. Are you running this as a HA Addon? You can find the logs on the addon page, or also via a filebrowser to see the addon_configs/synclyrics folder.

Thank you! Putting the right URL in the SyncLyrics on HA fixed it. It's working pretty slick now! I have an issue where my lyrics in Music Assistant are 2-3 bars behind but I will submit another ticket for that later if I can't figure it out. Very cool nonetheless! Thank you!

Hey @floodwayprintco ! Glad to hear it's working.

The MA issue you described is a known issue and has nothing to do with SyncLyrics as such. MA does not always report a 100% accurate playback position, this is due to a variety of factors, but mostly depends on what player you are using.

I investigated this extensively, but can't find a reliable fix. Sometimes, just a simple play/pause causes the position to catch up properly.

When you see a consistent and reproducible delay, please adjust the MA latency compensation in settings to account for that. I have documentation on latency comp and MA so please check that and let me know if you have any more questions!

Thank you! I did not notice the additional settings in the web ui. I bumped Spotify down to -2 and I'm cruising now. Next I will be figuring out how to display this on Lovelace. So good! This can be marked as closed.

Thanks @floodwayprintco ! It's easy to display this card as an iFrame in Lovelace or anywhere else really. I've got it embedded in my own HA dashboard like that too.
