How find whether an eddy is represented in model field by comparing with observated sea level using cost_function?.

I want to plot matching (CLS cyclone and anti-cyclone) and modelled eddy fields (cyclone and anti-cyclone) based on cost function. I used .match property, and it looks good. However, what I wanted to find is whether an eddy in the observation is represented in the model based on the cost function (used in tracking). Can i do that with a daily-mean field from observation and model?.
