I also have the same issue on Windows and it's strange. One of my theories looking at the source code is that gamecontrollerexample.cpp is trying to draw controllermap.svg but is unable to actually draw the file since it is an svg file. The image seems to be the only svg file and that is the only one that is failing to render for me. I was able to fix it by converting it to a png file and changing the image paths accordingly.
