What’s Happening?
We're taking a big step forward. A small team that sprung from the gpt-engineer community is launching a commercial project: gpt-engineer App. This initiative is designed to support the open-source gpt-engineer community.

What is gptengineer.app?
gptengineer.app lets anyone iterate on and deploy a web app using plain english.

Relationship with gpt-engineer

• Governance: gpt-engineer is an independent entity, governed by a board of its contributors
• Continued Support: A portion of gptengineer.app’s revenue will fund a full-time role and infrastructure for maintaining open-source tools for code generation

How is gpt-engineer App helping the codegen community?
gptengineer.app will improve evaluation of fully automated codegen algorithms, by:

• Generating benchmarks based on real user prompts that open source builders and researchers can evaluate on
• Running open source codegen algorithms in production, where real users are using it to get value, and compare results

Get Involved
The focus on making gpt-engineer CLI, and supporting all codegen builders and open source initiatives, goes on. There is an active set of people ( @axel.theorell @pbharrin @howsyourdad @.captivus ).
