Can xKit-rewritten fix the issue that text is no longer selectable on Tumblr dash? #2006

Update! I discovered that a very deliberate single-click-and-drag results in text selection. However, that is still a downgrade from the ancient, archaic method of text selection whereby one double-clicks a word then drags to select other whole words. There are probably other ways in which I customarily interact with posts which will be discombobulated by this hijacking of mouse input. Also, single-click-and-drag only selects character by character, which demands visual acuity and unnecessarily precise motor control. <rant>Besides that, it pisses me off!</rant> |

Oh my god I cannot even conceive of why someone would think that was a good idea to introduce. Fortunately I seem to not be subject to this, yet (took me a minute to even work out what these couple of recent posts were talking about!). What on earth is the benefit to denying text-selection in favor of "any touch on the post acts as a link to the post" even supposed to be, from a developer's standpoint? |

I have noticed I can no longer select text on the dash (like for translation, or for web searches, etc). Now, any text-selection attempts are interpreted as a mouse-click and lead to the browser opening the post in a new page. This tumblr-instigated change is tedious, and infuriatingly inelegant.
My fumbling efforts to investigate reveal nothing intelligible to me, except there are now a plethora of additional 'div' tags sequestering non-hyperlinked text away from selection by fussbudgets like me wanting to search a phrase or translate a word.
Can the wizards and angels behind XKit Rewritten conjure up a 'fix' to remove this blockade from selecting open text? It must be doable, since some things within the boundaries of the given post are still clickable as themselves, like #tags, and hyperlinks, and images. But through some fiendishly evil magic, every other pixel (including every single blessed letter of text) is inaccessible to my meandering mouse, except to open the whole post in a new tab.
I beseech thee, come to my aid!
