Import/Remake features from Dashboard Plus

Dashboard Plus, another extension for Tumblr, is in the process of being sunset, so here are some features I would personally like to see copied into XKit in case it ever stops working entirely:

• Hiding navigation icons/tabs (Explore, Shop, Communities, For You/Following tabs)
• Changing the post header to previous versions (make avatars square, avatars floating next to the post instead of inside it, reblog icon instead of "reblogged" and everything on one line)
• Hiding user badges (checkmarks, etc)
• Hiding the Blaze button
• Auto-skip mature content warnings when going to blogs
• Show exact poll votes alongside/instead of percentages
• Horizontal navigation/old Tumblr layout (Although I understand why this hasn't been added to XKit as it is hard to implement and maintain I think?)

Posting just to acknowledge that I've seen this! Not going to make any kind of blanket statement, but I think in general most features that other Tumblr enhancements have done that XKit Rewritten has not are ones we considered and made the decision not to do, so I wouldn't get your hopes up too much.

Oh dear. That "skip mature warning" one is a real QoL need with the current massive wave of Tumblr wrongfully marking posts and entire blogs "mature". (As far as I can tell, the "new and improved" detection is not only not better than what was used in 2018, it's actively worse. But I digress...) Is that one you actively decided not to implement? It's a very frequent annoyance.

The other ones I use are -

• Disable "post without tags" prompt - Could live without this as I almost never do it anyway
• Ignore Tumblr ad-free - This might not actually be doing anything in my case as I'm already a Premium user.
• Show exact poll votes and (especially) Show poll results without voting
• Corner radii - I like to sharpen up the corners on things quite a bit vs. their default.

I changed to Xkit's Panorama instead of Dashboard Plus's "Content width" tweak a while back, and I don't think I could use both at the same time or they'd conflict, but I still wish Panorama worked on tag pages.

Was that a feature on blogname.tumblr.com pages or tumblr.com/blogname pages? XKit Rewritten doesn't currently have code to affect the former page type at all.

I still wish Panorama worked on tag pages.

I don't know whether Dashboard Plus tries to affect both types, but I would only honestly expect it to work on tumblr.com/blogname. I'm pretty used to the fact of "if it's blogname.tumblr.com you're on your own".

...although tbh I think Tumblr must have changed something about how the warning is coded or presented, because it's actually not even working at the moment:

But if that's something XKit could do it would definitely be handy.

Oh, so there is a tumblr.com/blogname clickthrough. Yeah, I don't think I've seen a feature request for that until now!

Was just coming here to see if someone else had requested features from Dashboard Plus be imported to XKit.

I understand that a lot of features in Dashboard Plus were deliberately left out of XKit, but I'd like to add my voice to the requests for them anyway. There really are a lot of QoL features that I genuinely appreciate from Dashboard Plus that I'd really love to be able to keep using.

Personally, I use:

• disable "post without tags" prompt
• skip mature content warning
• show exact poll votes
• show poll results without voting
• square avatars
• floating avatars (having the quick access/direct link to my own blog at the top of the dash, as well as having the avatar of the blog whose post I'm reading is very helpful for me to keep track of who's who on my dash)
• link to previous (adds a link to the previous reblog)
• revert header appearance
• revert footer appearance
• ignore tumblr ad-free
• hide content in posts (hide tip and blaze buttons)
• hide in-stream content (hide blazed content, hide in-stream ads)
• hide sidebar content (ads)

Some of these (ad/blaze-based ones) might be redundant with what XKit already offers, as I used the two in conjunction with each other, but I'm throwing them out there regardless. I realize some of these may seem like simple aesthetic choices, but for me it more boils down to ease of access issues.

In any case, I appreciate all the hard work that gets put into XKit, so thank you for everything, and for even considering (re-)integrating features from other Tumblr enhancement extensions.

Something like the "search notes" feature that DB+ had would be really helpful too, as I use it to check to see if I have already reblogged/tagged certain posts!

Can you describe what that one did?

A little search button on the notes menu that, when you clicked it & typed a string, it would return the tags or urls of blogs that contained that string.
I only ever used it for reblogs, but the description says "adds a searchbar that allows searching for specific reblogs, replies, or likes within a post's notes", so I suppose it could search replies/likes as well.

Something like this, where "bugs" was the input string:

(Would also get any blogs that had "bugs" in their urls)

I used that one briefly myself, but I found it would bog down a lot on anything more than a smallish number of notes (understandably).
