Implement Basic Model Interface (BMI) for GLM? #60
Description
Our team is increasingly using GLM-AED for our lake management work, and we are seeing a lot of potential value to tightly couple GLM and/or AED to other models, for two-way interactions with groundwater (e.g. ModflowAPI), geochemical (e.g. PhreeqcRM), or water treatment models.
We had a good bit of success using the Basic Model Interface (BMI) and it's daughter
eXtended Model Interface (XMI) for tightly coupling models. Model developers at USGS, NOAA, Deltares, and other organizations are increasing adding BMI to their codebases.
@matthipsey, @casper-boon, and other GLM developers, do you have any interest to implement BMI for GLM or AED?
If so, perhaps we can collaborate on such an effort. We recently helped add BMI to the USACE GSSHA model.
