Job progression state

The status tracking has an in progress status but long long jobs, that doesn't help a lot.
What about adding a progression percentage value and a progression message and jobs would be able to update their progression state.

I need this too, can i update customentity while job in progress. That way i can track my jobs custom state, progress.
