Replace desktop application with Website.

It did not happen so far because we know it can be done better than a thick client, but due to validation limits on server-hosted APIs vs Daedalus wallet API. But we aim definitely to find a thin client solution later while Cardano APIs are evolving.

• Welche Adresse (user wallet) zu welcher Pool wallet delegieren?
  • User wallet authentifizieren:
    • Wir nutzen Smart Contract, welche Rechte kann dieser haben? Reichts aus für Delegation? Was brauchts für die Erlaubnis?
      • Wenn JA, dann geht jede Webseite zB PHP
      • Wenn nein, dann müssen wir schauen wie die API zu delegation aufgerufen werden kann. zB Cardano Node

Possible solutions

Yoroi wallet API

For instance, Metamask has an API to retrieve the Etherum account and then the website can work with the wallet. If we could talk to the YOROI wallet via API then we could delegate the ADA to stake pools.

• PRO: We could use an official software (YOROI) which gives trust in order to delegate without secret phrase on a website.
• CONTRA: The "Auto-Delegation" every 5 days can not work because if can only delegate when the user is on the website.

So far we could not find any available API for YOROI.
Today I wrote to the YOROI support for more details about the API.

Smart contract

talk to the YOROI wallet via API then we could delegate the ADA to stake pools.

• PRO: We could use an official part of the blockchain (smart contract) which gives trust in order to delegate without secret phrase on a website AND we can use "Auto-delegation" every 5 days if the given permissions has no timeout.
• CONTRA: The only contra is that MAYBE we cannot delegate in a smart contract.

Today I created a feature request for smart contract team to have delegation permission since we could not find it in the API:
