Select2 autocomplete does not support multiple lists

The survey below has an Infauna Species field which is configured to pull from animals and plants lists

However an issue was discovered that the infauna species field is only pulling from one of the species lists (animals and plants).
The issue is select2 autocomplete does not support multiple lists (i.e comma separated druid).
