Description
Overview
There are some loose ends that should be tied up on the current version of the chess board, and this proposed update will bring some nice quality of life features to improve robustness (namely in connecting to the internet), gameplay, and networking on the micro and on the server.
Desired Feature List
- Be able to change string data stored on the micro such as access point information (SSID and password) and username without having to reprogram every time
- Add timed games
- Update the networking
- Overhaul the existing server with refreshed code and a new database
- Requests to and from the server should be made with standard API calls
- Update the networking and API parsing on the micro
- Refactor the existing code on the micro to make it leaner and meaner
- Redesign hardware circuitry to be a single board design, friendly for P&P manufacturing
